Week 10 - 11/18 to 11/22
- Mon 11/18 - Study for tomorrow's Chapter 3 Exam
- Tues 11/19 - Read a legitimate article about the climate crisis and bring the link to class, write a haiku about the climate crisis (make it into a small, visually appealing poster for EC...Personal Element poster EC is also below)
- Wed 11/20 - Read 11.1, check out new CLIMATE page of class website and do the following...
- DUE TOMORROW - Fill out all five columns on the Climate Project Group List. Pay special attention to what research you agree to do for your group by next Wed 11/27. If you are absent that day, you are still responsible for sharing your research with your group somehow so that they can use it when they work on their project that day!
- DUE TOMORROW - Read rules & post the link to your article on the Resource Library
- DUE WEDNESDAY 11/27 - Decide with group about what you should research and present research in class on Wed 11/27. If you are absent that day, you are still responsible for sharing your research with your group somehow so that they can use it when they work on their project that day!
- Optional - check out the Discussion Board and consider participating by either commenting on a question that's up there or writing a new question for other to comment upon
- Optional - consider signing the pledge Chicago Community Climate Partnership Pledge! (link to pledge) (link to video)
- Thurs 11/21 - Read 11.2, #'s 2-6
- Fri 11/22 - Read 11.3-11.5, #'s 9,12,14,17,20

...identify nonmetals, metals, semi-metals, transition metals, halogens, noble gases, lanthanides, actinides and diatomic elements on the periodic table.
...describe a compounds composition based on its chemical formula.
...identify the three major subatomic particles, their locations and their properties.
...explain and correct Dalton's atomic theory.
...diagram and explain Thomson and Rutherford's experiments.
...interpret and create proper notation for isotopes using both hyphen notation and atomic symbols.
...calculate an element's average atomic mass from isotopic percent abundance data and vice versa.
...properly describe the formulation of ions from their parent atoms.
...predict the neutral compound formed from a cation/anion pair..
