Chapter 2 Exam on Mon 10/7 (2.1-2.6)
Week 5 - 9/30 to 10/4
- Mon 9/30 - Shot labs due to TurnItIn.com by 11:59 tonight (Password to join class is Trine)
- Tues 10/1 - Read 2.5 & 2.6, do as much of the sand/salt lab as possible (without your last bit of data)
- Wed 10/2 - Start reviewing for Monday's chapter 2 exam, #'s 13-15,17-20,22,25,26
- Period 1 &2 - the sand data we collected today wasn't so useful because the filter paper wasn't totally dry :( Do the book questions instead and we'll talk in class about how to adjust for the sand/salt lab)
- Thurs 10/3 - Finish sand/salt lab
- SAND/SALT DATA FROM SHERYE KAM & AMADOR RODRIGUEZ
- DRY SAND & SALT MIXTURE - 5.32g
- DRY EMPTY FLASK - 74.52g
- COOL DRY FLASK & CONTENTS - 75.05g
- DRY SAND & FILTER PAPER - 6.49g
- SAND/SALT DATA FROM SHERYE KAM & AMADOR RODRIGUEZ
- Fri 10/4 - Study for Monday's Chapter 2 Exam
Chapter 2 "I CANs"...
...define, differentiate and give examples of a solid liquid and gas.
...define, differentiate and give examples of elements, compounds, mixtures and pure substances.
...define, differentiate and give examples of heterogeneous and homogeneous mixtures.
...define, differentiate and give examples of physical/chemical changes and properties.
...determine how to separate various mixtures (filtration and distillation).
...draw and interpret particle diagrams
...spell the names and symbols of elements 1-36 (no need to know their numbers!)
